Intellectual Freedom Helplines have been implemented in several states in an effort to preserve intellectual freedom, protect First Amendment rights, and strengthen support for librarians across the nation. Librarians or library workers experiencing intellectual freedom issues including book challenges, first amendment audits, privacy infringements or other problems related to intellectual freedom should report those issues and know that support is available. Reports can be made anonymously, and information shared with the Helpline will remain confidential.
